Death is mad and has stuck you in time loop hell

Luckily, you are a cat and have 9 lives! 

Can you use your previous lives to get through each level?

Overview:

• You have 9 lives to complete each level. 

• Each time you die, you loop back to the beginning. 

• You can use your previous "life" as a platform to help you reach your goal.

• 10 levels in total with increasingly difficult hazards.

Controls: 

• WASD or Arrow keys
• Spacebar also jumps
• 'R' can be used to reset the level if you get stuck

Inspiration: 

• My kid wanted to enter the 2025 GMTK, but neither of us had ever created a game. I offered to do the programming if they came up with the idea and created the graphics. 

• The year's theme of "Loop" had us thinking about time loops and movies like Groundhog Day. What would a loop in look like if your previous actions (and body) stayed around for the next loop?

• The idea reminded Ronin of a cat with 9 lives. It inspired them to create cover art shown above. This would become our focus for the game.

• Initially called "9 Lives", we remembered the old idiom: "Not a cat in hell's chance."

• We decided to call our cat protagonist Mori from the latin saying "Memento mori".
